VAJRA Disbands

For those people who were reading my blog because of the JRock indies stuff, I just wanted to mention that, yes, I'm aware of the fact that VAJRA have disbanded (I found out the day it was announced). If you didn't know, now you do. But really, who didn't see that one coming? They lost Eru, virtually stopped releasing music, and simply couldn't keep up the pace they'd set for themselves at the beginning. However, it sounds like they're planning new projects, and it's likely that some of the members will be forming new projects together, so that'll be something interesting to look out for!

  1. It definitely does. I knew when I left Japan that the bands I'd been periodically seeing would be picked off one by one. I wondered who would remain by the time I got back. First Valluna, now VAJRA. One by one, all my "regulars" are disbanding. But I'm hopeful that the members of VAJRA will move on and have some good projects for us to look forward to!

  3. Hello Emotional Days, glad to hear you like my blog! Yeah, it was a sad year, wasn't it? I can't believe how many VK bands that I frequented in Japan no longer exist. Some have prospered, however. Already in 2011 we have Exist Trace going major! Things are looking up, perhaps! And hey, it doesn't matter how old you are! I've been listening to Japanese music as far back as eleven years old, so you're never too young to start ^__^

  7. That's a good question, lol. Well, my parents had set aside a pretty good college fund for me before I was born and we'd been saving up for college my entire life. The cost to study abroad in Japan was pretty much the same as the tuition costs I was paying to go to college anyways, so it wasn't that big of a deal considering I was already attending university. However, the honest truth about how I paid for all the concerts I went to is, well... let's just say I had a lot of dinners made of candy and water, lol. I have pretty bad priorities, lol.

  9. Hahaha, yeah, it's hard not to get tossed around by the fans. At one of the shows I went to (I think it was during Ha;qch), some fans slammed into me and I fell through the curtain hanging over the entrance door XD You just have to learn to get back on your feet really fast, lol.
