Karaoke (a la Kita)

Aaaaaaaaaand now for something completely different.  Kinda.

Sooooo sometimes I do really stupid impersonations of JRock vocalists at karaoke.  We thought it might be kinda funny to film me doing two of my worst.  See, I can sing really low, and I can sing really high, and I can do some screaming stuff, although I'm hardly what you'd call "professional" about any of it.  In fact, you could make a drinking game out of every bad note I hit.  But maybe this'll amuse some of you, and it'll be a "comedic break" from my usual reporting.

Watch my melodrama at work!

First things first, YouTube hated my files, so I used some crappy free trial convertor that put a beautiful watermark over these videos.  If I cared about these videos, I would've been mad, but this isn't even my "best" as far as karaoke goes (it was actually my first time singing since getting over that lung infection).  Also, I find these videos really humiliating and don't want my face around the internet too much, so I made these videos practically untraceable by searching, hence the funny names and descriptions.  So, um... try not to spread these videos too much.  I look awful (my face is not red like that, I don't know what the camera lighting did to me!!!), and I sound worse, so........ let's keep the embarrassment-spreading to a minimum, eh?  I'll probably take these down eventually like I did my other karaoke videos, lol.

Also, pardon the weird, um........ alien-like wiggling in the videos.  I tested out YouTube's anti-shaky-cam, and the results were hilarious.  It's like I'm made of pudding!

Well, anyways, first up is my terrible rendition of Malice Mizer's Gekka no Yasoukyoku:

Lol, fucking phone.  Stupid karaoke place has the worst timing.  So that performance was just awful, right?  Don't worry, it gets worse.  Are you ready for D's Yami Yori Kurai Doukoku no Acapella to Bara Yori Akai Jounetsu no Aria?!!  Oh, that's right.  I went there:

Hope you enjoyed!  Next weekend is the Kiryu Festival!  Some of you probably never read last year's masturi post on this blog, so that means nothing to you, but the festival's pretty awesome, so expect a nice, pretty post about that, full of food photos and stupid dancing photos and you'll get to see my fucking awesome new yukata!!!

See ya then!

  1. I must apologize to anyone who watched those for the really crappy camera job. It's kinda funny because I was using my left hand to hold Kita's iPod touch to record with and I was using my right hand to hold up my iPhone with the flash activated like a flashlight for lighting since the room was practically pitch black. We recorded quite a few videos that night and my arms were getting tired and giving up, so hence all the wiggling XD Sorry m(-_-)m

But, OMG Kita! You posted them! Yay! I love both of them <3 We should do this again sometime and I will figure out a way to make the camera and lighting suck less!

    1. As I mentioned in the post, it wasn't your camera skills that caused the wiggling, it was YouTube's anti-shaky-cam thing. It was an option you could select, so I was like, "lol, what the hell" and clicked it. YouTube tried to "fix" the unsteady movements, and the wiggling was the result. I thought it was hilarious, so I kept it, lol. And yes, we should do it again sometime, but don't worry about the camera. This shit ain't srs bzns, lol. And maybe next time I'll suck less =____=

    1. Lol, maybe some time MelJay and I will do a ridiculous karaoke post in which we goof around like crazy, lol. That sort of thing DOES happen, so we might as well film it! I think that would be funny XD And I'm glad you liked my Gekka no Yasoukyoku impersonation! I don't think it was that good, but I guess it could've been worse, lol. It was certainly better than my Yami Yori XD I wouldn't say I have a great singing voice, but...... well, at least I'm not tone deaf, hahaha.

  4. I have to say, I expected some sort of taking-the-piss, joking around karaoke videos but holy shit your voice is great! Even if you were just playing around, I think it's much better than most of us could hope to do! Kudos! Also that youtube anti-shake thing is perhaps the funniest thing I've seen on the internet for a while. In what way do they expect that will help? Maybe it's just meant to distract people from the fact that the video is a bit shaky? Guess we'll never know! I'm so glad you posted these... those names are pretty hilarious as well! XD

    1. Aah, thank you, lol. I don't have much confidence in my singing voice, actually, so your compliment is much appreciated ^__^ Truth be told, I used to be so embarrassed by my singing voice that no one - not even MelJay - could get me to sing in front of anyone. Like, they'd practically have to bribe me, and even then I could barely just squeak because I was so embarrassed. But I've gotten a little more confident and willing to sing, although I still don't think I'm that good XD

And seriously, that shaky-cam shit is ridiculous XD There's a button that lets me undo it, but I think it's soooooo much funnier with it. I'm pretty sure it made the shaking WORSE XD

  6. I hope I don’t sound like a freak for noticing this right off the bat but… are you wearing a Dir en grey shirt? The Uroboros one? I love that damn t-shirt! Although, I ordered mines too big, thinking my weight was that of a whale’s, so I would look like a human kite wearing it outside and had to settle on wearing it to sleep instead. I feel fucking awesome napping in Deg clothing though. xD

The anti- shaking thing…kinda goes with the song. Lmao idk, the way it wiggles went along with the Malice Mizer song sometimes, hah. The little weird effect was entertaining to watch. But damn, you have such a nice voice. *A* And you freaking growl too?! Oh, I’m so jelly now. >:|

Kiryu festival! That was the second thing I read when I first found out about your blog and was all “Wait, this isn’t exactly concert related…..CHBFEHWADWSJDUJEIWQVN Japan stuff! Festival! Japanese festival of sorts!” I love those kinds of things! Looking forward to that! (And forgive all the exclamations; I get all giddy over anything festival-like).

    1. Yes, ma'am ^__^ It's my Uroboros t-shirt from the North American tour :-D It's a bit faded and overused, but I love it <3 I actually hadn't worn it in many, many months, and it just so happened I was wearing it that day, lol. But I had a similar problem as you with a different shirt. At the Family Values tour, I wanted a DEG shirt, but they only had a men's XX left! I was like wuuuut. I mean, I'm fat, but not THAT fat! But I bought it anyways and it was like a freakin' dress on me, lol. Sometimes I wore it with a belt, and sometimes I just slept in it like a nightgown XD

And thank you for your compliment :-) My singing voice isn't that great, though, lol. But yes, I do growl, probably better than I sing XD I do a pretty good -zan-, so maybe I'll post one of those next. Actually, I DO have a recording of me doing -zan-, but I blew the high note really bad, so I think I need to redo it, hahaha.

And I'll make sure to take extra awesome festival pictures for you this weekend! It's gonna be awesome! And I'm gonna dress up this time, too, and eat more food than ever!!! Did I mention Peachy and MelJay are traveling all the way out for it too? Oh yeah, shit's about to get real in Kiryu, hahaha.

    2. Pssh, the singing was great. You are just being modest now. -zan-? Did you just say -zan-? Woman, I must listen to that in the future. *____* You can’t let me leave this life without getting the chance to hear you rocking out to -zan-

Yay, pictures! It’ll feel like a vacation for me and everyone else who reads. :p Lol, that’s great because these sorts of things DEMANDS company for extra fun. You all enjoy the hell out of that; I’ll stalk up on popcorn and junk food meanwhile to be ready for when you post about it, haha.

    3. Lol, it's easy to be modest when your mother actually sings opera in a choir XD Compared to that, I'm nothing, hahaha. But yes, I can do -zan- :-3 Don't worry, I'll make it happen for you, I promise ^__^ As soon as I get to a karaoke place! Damnit, I wish I hadn't fucked up that last video I took of it >__< After so much time with laryngitis thanks to that goddamn lung infection, my voice was wrecked and the high note was just awful. I'll nail it on the next take!

And definitely get that popcorn ready! I'll try to make this post as awesome as possible, since the Kiryu Matsuri only happens once a year! :-D
